CEO, Dr. Simon Young:

Simon has been working in natural hazards risk assessment in the Caribbean for over a decade. He has an academic research background in geohazards, and has worked extensively in Europe as well as throughout the Americas. He was the first Director and Chief Scientist at the Montserrat Volcano Observatory, and remains an advisor on natural hazards risk to the UK Government covering the British Overseas Territories. Through his consultancy company, GeoSY Ltd, Simon served clients in both the public and private sectors throughout the Caribbean, including the Organisation of American States, the Pan-American Health Organisation, the Inter-American Institute for Global Change and the World Bank, numerous regional Governments, and local and regional quasi-government institutions including CDERA, UWI and, in Jamaica, the National Housing Trust and National Water Commission. Public sector clients include many of the largest pan-Caribbean corporations. Most recently, Simon has been project manager for the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Initiative on behalf of CARICOM and the World Bank.
Manager - Actuarial Services, Gary Francis:
Gary is nearing completion of his full professional qualification with the UK Institute of Actuaries. He has worked as Chief Actuary for a leading domestic retail insurer and has gained experience in a wide range of actuarial disciplines, including Dynamic Financial Analysis.
Risk Surveyor, Rhett Butler:
Rhett is a graduate of Florida Community College at Jacksonville with over 5 years of experience in undertaking site-specific risk surveys. He knows the region intimately and CaribRM's Risk Survey Reports are highly regarded in the international reinsurance markets, combining a high level of professional expertise with the local knowledge and insight which comes through our specific focus on the Caribbean region.
Strategic Partners:
CaribRM works closely with the pre-eminent regional re/insurance intermediaries, CGM Group, as well as with other regional and international re/insurance brokers and captive managers. CaribRM also has strategic partnerships with a number of regional and ex-regional professional service companies and individuals who provide additional technical expertise on a project by project basis as required. These include Kinetic Analysis Corporation (for hazard modelling), Pinnacle Actuarial (for specialist actuarial projects) and professional engineers in Trinidad, Barbados, Puerto Rico and Jamaica.
